Michael Jimenez is a founding member of our Information Technology, audit and consulting practice between both Genesis Systems Consulting LLC and PAAST, P.L.  Michael has extensive experience in information security, information technology governance, vulnerability assessment, penetration testing, forensic information technology, system validations, banking compliance, and Bank Secrecy Act, and Anti-Money Laundering.

He has over 20 years of experience performing information technology audits, security audits, vulnerability assessments, and compliance audits on regulations such as Gramm-Leach-Bliley, Health Information Portability and Accountability Act, and Sarbanes-Oxley, for clients in multiple industries using an array of software applications and platforms.

He also specializes in Bank Secrecy Act/Anti-Money Laundering compliance audits, regulatory compliance audits.  Michael has experience with BSA Model Validations and verifies that BSA models are performing as intended to meet with the Bank’s strategic monitoring activities. He verifies that they are performed in accordance with OCC Bulletin 2011-12. He has also performed BSA Risk Assessments in accordance with the FFIEC manual.

In addition, he has helped banks verify compliance with BSA and related regulatory matters by providing independent Look-back reviews as ordered by regulatory authorities such as: Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC), Office of the Comptroller of the Currency (OCC), Operating and Florida Office of Financial Regulation (OFR) and Federal Reserve.

Finally, Michael also oversees strategic IT initiatives for the firm, including information technology (IT) governance and security management.

Michael has been invited by PrimeGlobal’s North America and Latin America regions, as well as the University of Miami’s Beta Alpha Psi, to lecture on topics such as implementing document management systems, and data and network security.

Prior to joining the firm, Michael supervised the Management Information Systems department of a regional accounting firm. He was as a member of the technology team for several systems and was instrumental Year 2000 IT security reviews and compliance mandates for the financial institutions and regulated industries serviced by the firm.
